The NSRC is a division of Auburn University’s Center for Children, Youth, and Families. The NSRC’s primary objective is to provide information linking family science research on stepfamilies and best practices in work with couples and children in stepfamilies. Strengthening Families Georgia
Strengthening Families Georgia represents a multi-disciplinary partnership of nearly 50 national, state and local, and public and private organizations dedicated to embedding five research-based Protective Factors into services and supports for children and their families.
The primary SFG goal is that all agencies, organizations and individuals serving families with young children will embed the SFG Framework into systems, programs, services and activities.
The five factors of the SFG Framework are:

- Social Connections
- Parents Have Friends
- Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development
- Parents Know How Children Grow and Learn
- Concrete Support in Times of Need
