Action Ministries Housing is a faith-based organization that assists homeless families and veterans as they move from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

 

Georgia Dream Homeownership Program

The Georgia Dream Homeownership Program provides first mortgage loans, down payment assistance ($5,000) and homebuyer education to eligible homebuyers.  An eligible borrower must not have owned a home in the past three years, or must be purchasing a home in a targeted area.  The borrower must meet income and purchase price limits, have limited assets, and must invest at least $1,000 into the purchase transaction.

Additional Down Payment Assistance

  • Protectors, Educators and Health Care Workers that qualify for the Georgia Dream Program also qualify for the PEN Program, which provides an additional $2,500 in down payment assistance, totaling $7,500.
  • Families with members who are disabled who qualify for the Georgia Dream Program also quality for the CHOICE Program, which provides an additional $2,500 in down payment assistance, totaling $7,500.

HomeSafe Georgia is a federally funded, state operated mortgage assistance program that helps homeowners avoid foreclosure.

The following three programs are offered:

  • Mortgage Payment Assistance – Provides assistance to those who have experienced an unemployment or underemployment hardship in the last 36 months.
  • Mortgage Reinstatement Assistance – Provides assistance to those in need of mortgage help who have suffered a military, medical or death-related hardship in the last 36 months.
  • Mortgage Payment Reduction – Provides mortgage modification to those who have experienced a significant permanent reduction of income in the last 36 months.

The HACE offers one public housing community with 114 unites for families and senior/disabled individuals.

To apply, visit the HACE office to submit an application.  The following documents must be brought when applying: birth certificates, social security cards, and photo IDs for all household members.

The HACE does have a preference for applicants that live and/or work in the city of Eatonton.
